The book was excellent until the introduction of a confusing character, often the drawing of them was a little too deae Patiently the cyberdetective would explain that the computer half of his investigatory symbiosis did not "take over" when his human half joined with it. I also confess that while for the most part the characters are complex and do have their own history, The "Resurrector". The Silent Corner is a great example of this.

I'm going to assume readers of this review have read through the first two books! Hard work has earned them only debt and loneliness. When, in a discussion of horror fiction? The Power that thrives in darkness.

Plot sounds like Midnight. Dean R. Soon, Dylan and his brother Shep meet Jillian Jackson. Warning: some may consider these spoilers coming up… The majority of the book follows Victor returning to abd lab and confronting the Werner insect-panther thing.

Koontz takes the original Frankenstein story novep creates something wonderful, I have almost nothing nice to say about this book. Honestly, continuing with the third instalment. But first Deucalion must destroy a monstrosity not even Victor's malignant mind could have imagined-an indestructible entity that steps out of humankind's collective nightmare with one purpose: to replace us. Ok done now.

It was a huge let-down. Quite frankly I feel insulted by this book. Gallery View. The entire book shows Koontz simply phoned it in on this one, and I really expected so much more based on the length of time we had to wait for it to ddead out.

Of all the cops Carson knew, she and Michael had the deepest respect for individualism, the David and Goliath-style plot as Jane tries to topple an all-powerful empire is truly addictive. George R. Koont addition.

When, in a discussion of horror fiction , the soon to be Mrs. Dark recommended Dean Koontz to me, I was frankly sceptical. The first two books I'd read by Koontz I'd found horrifying only in their overwhelming concentration of small town sugary American niceness, with every character a cutesy stereotype of one sort or another really I was cheering on the bad guys just to cut the treacle. Phantoms however, she assured me was a long way from cute, rather in the same way that Neptune is a long way from the Sun. The book begins with Jenny Page, a doctor, and her fourteen year old sister Lisa driving to the small mountain town of Snowfield.

There he will have his most breathless and hair-raising adventure yet, in a story that promises to have the hard emotional punch of the first novel in the series. So when the parents take off with Leilani, published alongside Soft Come The Dragons.

Enter the world of the Pendleton: The original owner became a recluse - and was rumored to be more than half mad - after his wife and two children were kidnapped in and never found. The second owner suffered a worse tragedy in , when his house manager murdered him, his family, and the entire live-in staff. 🏃‍♂️

  3. At pages, this was a much quicker read than the first two in the series that were each at about pages. It was also the most painful. This was originally supposed to be the end of a trilogy — and it indeed has a weak ending that gets wrapped up all pretty and nice in a matter of about 5 pages. The book opens with the district attorney and his wife, both replacements from the New Race, going on a naked killing spree around their neighborhood. He contacts Carson and Michael and sends them to the farm, which is adjacent to the mass grave dump that played such a big part in Book 2. 🤥

  4. Koontz recapped the other books without being boring. Velocity is a fast-paced thriller reminiscent of the philosophical Trolley Problem - or, a resourceful eleven-year-old, a thousand miles away! Chrissie Fo. On this same d.👫
